Electrical Trade Distributors was founded in 2019 by Zain Hardcastle and Kapi Tanirau.
After years of experience in the corporate world of reports and targets they wanted to start a company that concentrated on the customer and the support of the products they promote and sell.
Electrical Trade Distributors is an electrical low voltage distribution company with a focus on providing premium products and solutions.
A distinct advantage is our experience within the market with over 50 years combined including 15+ years with ABB.
Our product specialist sales team and our low customer to product sales specialist ratio benefits the customer.
We aim to support our customer base with a focused and comprehensive stock profile, giving us the ability to service our customer’s needs efficiently.

Zain Hardcastle – Ngāti Porou
Director
Zain has been employed in the electrical industry since 1991, starting out as a Store Person with an electrical wholesaler in Hastings.
His sales career has spanned products in low voltage, cable, and lighting in various roles such as Business Development and Key Account Management through to Counter Sales and store person.
A consistent theme throughout all of his roles has been his belief in quality and service of the products he supports.
Kapi Tanirau – Ngāti Tūwharetoa
Director
Kapi has over 25 years of sales and business development experience within the electrical industry and brings a wealth of application knowledge. Having worked within a vast array of industries and market segments such as food and beverage, oil and gas, pulp and paper, water and wastewater and HVACR.
Prior to ETD Kapi worked at ABB for 11 years specializing in their Drives portfolio.
He prides himself on the strength of customer working relationships and the high level of service and support he offers.
